Open (Source) Business Model

Monty and Zak Greant gave a really interesting summary of their idea for an Open Source corporation model. I agree with the most of the rules and thing that they could be a basis for a great company. Still I would not call this set of rules a "business modell". Actually it is nice to find out that we are using many of principles outlined in the article.

An unfortunate thing is that some of the practices proposed by Monty and Zak could be hard to implement in real world. For example: in Finland it might be illegal to follow this rule:

"If people are not working up to expectations they will first get warned about this. If they don't correct this within one Month they will be moved to 'on trial basis'. After 3 months the Company and the Employee will have a discussion of how things are going and decide if it's better that the Employee leaves the company with immediate effect."

Update: Montys new company, Monty Program, has (re)outlined this Hacking Business Model and are looking for developers to join the company.
